IMS is the high-frequency event of the year. Last year I got to go to the
European equivalent, EuMC, and this served to confirm that IMS is the
top option. I wanted Mark and Toby, my grad students, to see what this was
like, so they had a handle on their publishing target for next year!
The exhibition is at least as informative as the technical papers.
This is a picture spanning a little less than half of it.
This photo ought to be in the "California" section, but it shows an award

sometime, and thrice was traditional at HP!)
Interestingly, the instrument is apparently selling like hotcakes, and it was clear from walking the exhibition that at least three other systems were on show, competing for the same measurement capability's markets.
The original "Three Horsemen" of the APSPA days got to spend time together in Boston.
There was time for eating and a bit of sightseeing.
...meeting up with other Antipodeans, and walking around with
Toby and Mark.
